Connect your domain to Microsoft Office 365

Verification of domain ownership

Office 365 needs to verify if you are the domain owner. There are two ways doing that:

  • TXT record
  • MX record

We recommend the TXT record as that's the preferred option of Microsoft.

  • Please login to your Microsoft Office 365 admin center
  • Choose Setup > Domains
  • On the Domains page, choose your domain, then choose Start setup. You'll go back to the domains setup wizard to see the specific value you need to add
  • On the Verify domain page, choose Add a TXT record instead, then choose Next
  • Copy the TXT value shown. It looks like this: MS=msXXXXXXXX
  • Login to your Moniker customer account
  • From your My Domains list click on the domain you would like to configure
  • At the bottom of the page click the blue Edit button (root domain)

  • From the pop-up under the TXT section

  • Enter the before copied TXT record like this: MS=msXXXXXXXX

  • Click the small Add button to enter the next TXT record: v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
