How can I pre-register and pre-order new gTLDs?

New domain extensions

Over 700 new Domain extentions have been introduced in the recent years.

The new gTLDs represent regions or cities, e. g. .africa, .london, .paris, communities, e. g. .gay, .cpa, .hotel, or generic terms of any kind, e. g. .sport, .web, .home, .shop, .music etc..

The internet landscape will change as a result and many new generic namespaces with attractive domain names will be created.

Moniker offers you free, non-binding pre-orders and the registration of new gTLDs.

Further information

  • Details on the available new gTLDs can be found here: New TLDs
  • Furthermore, all available information is published in our newsletters and in the news on our website.

Non-binding pre-order

If you have placed a non-binding pre-order for a particular new gTLD, you will be contacted by us via e-mail as soon as we have information on the allocation procedure, prices etc. and you can change your non-binding pre-order in a binding pre-order.

Order a new gTLD in your account:

  • After logging in to you account, start the domain search as usual
  • As a result, the NOTE "Non-binding pre-order" is displayed
  • to continue with the non-binding pre-order, please click on "Add to cart"

Information in the shopping cart

If you see the price, as in our example, with 0.00 Euro this means that no start date and / or price is known for this new gTLD.

If y price is displayed, you can place a binding pre-order the domain in the same way.

If you want to place a non-binding pre-order, please confirm our gerneral terms and conditions and click on Order now to complete the process.

Change non-binding pre-order / binding pre-order

In your account you will find your pre-order under Domains Pre-orders.

As soon as the launch date of a non-binding pre-ordered domain is available, the customer will be contacted via e-mail and informed, that the non-binding pre-order can be changed into a binding pre-order. If you receive such a message from us, you can decide whether you would like to pre-order the domain through Moniker bindingly.

Here you can delete the non-binding pre-order at any time with a right click in the corresponding line or, if available, change it into a binding pre-order.

Registration phases

The registration / launch phases depend on the respective TLD.

For all new gTLDs the following apply:

SUNRISE PHASE

  • The Sunrise period is only for trademark holders resp. licencees whose brands have been verified by the service of the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) and thus are able to provide a valid SMD file.
  • We will accept only Sunrise applications with a valid SMD file. The file must be uploaded in your shopping cart.
  • The trademark owner specified in the SMD file must match the domain owner exactly.

EAP, LANDRUSH or REGION

Registration requirements and pricing of the other - "intermediate"- phases such as EAP, LANDRUSH or REGION may vary greatly and are dependent on the respective registries.

GOLIVE - General Availability

Provided that there are no special restrictions implemented by the registry this phase is open to everyone.

Notification: Claims Notification

If you order a domain name that is verified by the Trademark Clearinghouse and for which the so-called Claims Notification Service is active - is for example Moniker activated by default and can only be de-selected when ordering the TMCH service - you will see the following notice in your shopping cart:
