cPanel email issues

If you just activated a cPanel and got issues with sending emails from newly created email accounts, the cause will probably be a missing DKIM record.

Email providers like Google require a DKIM record to be present to accept emails from a domain.

The DKIM record needs to be generated manually in the cPanel and then entered in the DNS settings of the domain.

Please do the following:

  1. Log in to your cPanel:

  2. In the cPanel click on "Email Deliverability":

  3. Then on the manage button for the domain with the issue:

  4. Now click on "Generate Local DKIM Key":

  5. This will generate a Name and a Value. We need to copy those into the DNS settings of your domain:

Now you need to open the DNS settings of your domain. Please do the following:

  1. In your Moniker account, click on the domain name in the My Domains list:

  2. On the next screen click on "Modify Domain Setup":

  3. Now make sure your are on the "Our Nameservers & DNS" screen (1), locate the "Add New Record" section (2), select Type = TXT (3), enter "default._domainkey" as the name (4) and copy the Value the cpanel has generated as the Text Data (5).
When this is done click "Add".

  4. Now click "Apply Now" and "Submit" on the following screen to apply the change.
